Family Activities and Service Initiatives
On
22nd April 2026, all LASA members and their families undertook a blessed
pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Santhanamatha at Pedaparimi. The pilgrimage
sought divine grace and renewal while honoring sixty years of dedicated
religious life and service. Among the members, A. Anitha Vijaya and B. Sandhya
Rani completed the remarkable spiritual endeavor of hand‑copying the entire
Holy Bible. As part of LASA’s outreach, scholarships were provided to ten
students from Rajarajeswaripet studying in 10th Class and Intermediate levels. The
initiative reflected LASA’s dedication to education and empowerment, fostering
hope for a brighter future.
On
26th June 2026, LASA members of St. Ann’s Provincialate, Gollapudi, joyfully
visited Don Bosco Navajeevan Bala Bhavan Society (Chiguru Children’s Village). They
spent quality time with the children, warmly interacting about their health,
studies, and dreams. A joyful exchange of songs created an atmosphere of
friendship and happiness. Snacks, fruits, and drinks were distributed, but the
true gift was the love and care shared. The visit reminded all that even small
acts of kindness reflect God’s infinite love and bring joy and hope.
On
22nd April 2026, LASA members of St. Ann’s Provincialate, Gollapudi, visited
poor families in YSR Colony. The visit was an act of Christian love and
service, sharing God’s care with those in need. Members warmly interacted,
listened to difficulties, and offered hopeful encouragement. A small financial
contribution was given, and families were guided on the importance of
education. The experience reminded all that true service means sharing hope,
kindness, and compassion beyond material help.
On
28th March 2026, all LASA members of St. Ann’s Provincialate, Gollapudi, joined
the Palm Sunday celebration with their families. Carrying blessed palm
branches, they joyfully commemorated Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The
event marked the beginning of Holy Week for the faithful. It invited
participants to prepare their hearts for the Lord's Passion and death. The
celebration culminated in hope and devotion, anticipating the Resurrection of
Christ.
Maundy
Thursday Prayer Service and Washing of the Disciples’ Feet
On
2nd April 2026, the LASA unit of St. Ann’s Provincialate, Gollapudi,
prayerfully joined the Maundy Thursday service. The celebration commemorated
Jesus humbly washing the disciples’ feet, a symbol of love and humility. Reflections
centred on the Last Supper, where Jesus instituted the Holy Eucharist and
taught selfless service. Inspired by His example, members renewed their
commitment to live with humility and forgiveness. The observance deepened faith
and encouraged serving others with generosity and compassion.
Good
Friday Way of the Cross Prayer Journey
On 3rd April 2026, all LASA members of St. Ann’s Provincialate, Gollapudi, prayerfully joined the Good Friday Way of the Cross. With deep devotion, they remembered Jesus’ suffering and sacrifice for the salvation of the world. At each Station of the Cross, members united their joys and struggles with His Passion. The Way of the Cross emphasized that true love is lived through sacrifice, forgiveness, and service. Prayers, hymns, and reflections deepened faith, reminding all of Christ’s endless love and mercy for humanity.
On
21–22 March 2026, 47 LASA members and 12 Sister coordinators gathered at Maria
Nivas, Gollapudi, for the First LASA Congress. The opening day featured a
prayer service and an address by Sr. Showrilu, highlighting LASA’s place in the
Congregation. Sr. Letitia D’Souza animated sessions on Church documents and
introduced the Barolian Method, emphasizing compassion, person-centeredness,
and guidance. The second day focused on the Synodal Journey, with greetings
from Mother Francesca, her Council, and General Councillors. Mother Ernestine
shared insights on LASA’s origins in Latin America, inspiring deeper commitment
to the mission.
Feast of Mother Blessed Mother Enrichetta
On
21st February 2026, St. Anthony’s Convent, Vijayawada, and LASA members
commemorated the 132nd Death Anniversary of Blessed Mother Enrichetta. The
gathering began with a prayer service reflecting on her life of faith, charity,
humility, and service. Prizes were distributed to winners of the Bible
Examination based on the Gospels, encouraging deeper study of God’s Word. The
celebration inspired all to follow her example of simplicity and compassion in
daily life. It was a joyful, meaningful, and spiritually enriching event for
the entire Community.
The
Platinum and Diamond Jubilee of Sr. Aurelia Ekka and Sr. Terenzia Dungdung was
celebrated at St. Ann’s Convent, Tamnar, on 15th February 2026. The solemn
Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Bishop Paul Toppo,
joined by several priests. The Holy Mass was a profound thanksgiving for their
many years of dedicated religious life and faithful service. Sisters,
relatives, friends, LASA, and faithful from Tamnar, Raigarh, and Gharghoda
participated, adding joy and communion. The event concluded with a festive
meal, celebrating the rich legacy of commitment and sacrifice exemplified by
the Jubilarians.
On
16th January, LASA members of St. Ann’s Provincialate, Gollapudi, joyfully
celebrated the Golden and Diamond Jubilees of the Sisters. The celebration
began with prayer and thanksgiving for God’s blessings and the Sisters’
dedicated lives. LASA members enthusiastically supported the programme by
welcoming guests and assisting in various arrangements. The inspiring lives of
the Jubilarians encouraged everyone to deepen their faith, prayer, and service
to others. The celebration concluded with the Jubilarians blessing all the LASA
members, making the occasion truly memorable.
United in Prayer for Saranya’s Healing
On
10th January, all the LASA members of St. Ann’s Provincialate, Gollapudi
gathered for a special Healing Prayer Service to pray for Saranya, a Class 3
student who was battling cancer. With hearts filled with faith, love, and
compassion, we came together to seek God’s healing grace and mercy. We
prayerfully recited the Holy Rosary, asking Mother Mary to intercede for
Saranya and bless her with healing, strength, courage, and peace.
On June 21, 2025, LASA held its first meeting with prayer, reflections, and gratitude to outgoing members. The theme “Pilgrims of Hope” guided discussions on faith, service, and community outreach. A special prayer service was organized for the dedicated staff, with offerings to Mother Mary. On July 6, members planned Jubilee projects: house visits, orphanage outreach, and a pilgrimage to Nirmalgiri. From July 17, the Novena prepared members spiritually with themes of faith, hope, compassion, forgiveness, and unity. Prayers were offered for the Church, youth, suffering families, unwed mothers, peace, and the poor. The Feast of St. Ann on July 25 was celebrated with Holy Mass, blanket distribution to the needy, and joyful fellowship.
Called to Serve with Faith and Joy – LASA Promise
Ceremony
On October 31, 2025, the Lay Associates of the Sisters of St. Ann (LASA) made their solemn promise, a day filled with grace and joy. The Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Damala Vijay Kumar, invited reflection on serving God and humanity. In a sacred moment, the Lay Associates placed their hands in that of Sr. Mary Rani, witnessed by the Sisters of St. Ann. Rosaries and identity cards were presented, symbolizing devotion and belonging to the LASA family. The celebration concluded with cake‑cutting and fellowship, marked by gratitude, laughter, and thanksgiving. This memorable day renewed hope and dedication, reminding all that service in faith is a living prayer.
Jubilee for families
On 29th June 2025, the
Joharapuram Sisters with LASA members celebrated the Family Jubilee at the
parish church. The event began with a prayer service led by Fr. Rajashekar, who
reflected on the beauty of family life. Sr. Annamma welcomed all, highlighting
the vital role of families in building a faithful society. Fr. Rajashekar
inspired couples with biblical examples and the Holy Family as a model of love
and faith. Couples renewed their marital promises, received gifts, and joined
in fellowship with refreshments and games. The celebration was grace-filled,
leaving families strengthened in faith, love, and unity.
Meeting with LASA
The first LASA meeting
was held on June 21, 2025 at St. Ann’s Provincialate, Gollapudi. The session
began with prayer and an interactive sharing among members. Gratitude was
expressed to outgoing members, and new members were warmly congratulated. The
theme Pilgrims of Hope was discussed, inspiring reflections for the year’s
journey. A special prayer service was arranged for the contingent staff,
honoring their dedication. They offered flowers to Mother Mary, receiving
blessings and strength to continue their noble work.
Pilgrimage to our origins at Secunderabad
On 1st March 2025, the Sisters of Sacred Heart Community with LASA members began their pilgrimage at dawn, praying the Rosary and singing hymns to Mother Enrichetta. They reached Bolaram by 11:00 a.m., where St. Ann’s Home welcomed them warmly with snacks and prayer in the Sacred Chapel. At the Novitiate, they admired the formation center that shaped many Sisters in their vocation. At the Provincialate, Sr. Cicily, Provincial Superior, inspired all with a message on humility, simplicity, and self-offering. Returning to St. Ann’s Home, Senior Sisters greeted them with songs and a joyful meal. At Secunderabad, they explored the museum, retracing Mother Enrichetta’s footsteps and witnessing her life history. The group prayed at St. Mary’s Basilica, the Perpetual Adoration Chapel, and before the Miraculous statue of Mother Mary. The pilgrimage concluded at the Cemetery with prayers for departed Sisters, leaving hearts enriched with faith and gratitude.
Activities of LASA - 2024 – 2025
Region-wise Adoration was
conducted across the Province for LASA members. Communities in Vijayawada
gathered at St. Anthony’s Convent, while Eluru units met at St. Ann’s. In
Chhattisgarh, due to distance, each unit held Adoration at their own locations.
The sacred hour united members with the Lord, offering a creative and inspiring
experience. Lectio Divina on the “Our Father” guided reflections, shared even
in local languages. A joyful competition on the same theme concluded the day
with gratitude and enthusiasm.
Ø In our Province each community chose an appropriate time in month of June 2019 and inaugurated LASA with the prayer service followed by the reading of our Mother General. In each community a beautiful and meaningful prayer service was conducted. In the first meeting LASA members came to know more about our congregation and about our Founders. They were enriched knowing about the noble couple who went out of themselves to reach out to the little once of the society. LASA members were touched by the pious couple.
