The feast of visitation of Mary on 31st may, 2022 was very significant day in the annuls of the Province of the Immaculate Conception. It was a day of Jubilation and a day of blessing as the outgoing provincial team was remembered with gratitude and new provincial team installed.
The momentous occasion began with the prayer service for the outgoing and incoming Provincial teams entitled "For all that has been – THANKS. For all that will be – YES". The ceremony was symbolic and heartwarming.
Sisters recalled with gratitude the yeoman service rendered by Mother Ernestine and the team.For all that has been - THANKS.
Installation Ceremony : For all that will be - YES
The whole Province was throbbed with joy as Sr.Jacintha Mariappa, the General Councillor called upon the new team Sr.Showrilu Kondaveeti, the Provincial Superior, Sr.Leesamma Philip, Sr.Hemalatha Dhanson, Sr.Rajitha Putti and Sr.Mariamma Kondeti, the Councillors, to assume their call to service. The Councilors were exhorted to render their service of support, help and advice to the Provincial Superior to collectively fulfill the task assigned to them
The symbolism of oil is for sanctification, healing, strengthening, dedication, consecration and sacrifice. She on behalf of Mother Francesca Sarcia, the Superior General anointed the new Provincial Superior with a holy oil and in turn Sr.Showrilu annointed her council.
The outgoing Provincial Superior Mother Ernestine handed over the Province to the newly appointed Provincial Superior Sr.Shworilu in a symbolic way by presenting her a laminated map of the Province.
Both the teams together with the General Councillor, cut the cake and shared the joy of the day with the Sisters of the Province as they shared the cake.
Eucharistic Celebrations:
The Symbolic Entrance and Offertory Processions and the breaking of the word made the Eucharistic Celebration a memorable one for both the teams.
The Symbols of the Shepherd, Servant and Steward leader are recalled.
Leadership is hard to define - Lord, let us be the ones to define it with truth and justice.
Leadership is like a handful of water - Lord, let us be the people to share it with those who thirst.
Leadership is not about watching and correcting - Lord, let us remember it is about listening and connecting.
Leadership is not about telling people what to do - Lord, let us find out what people want us to do.
Leadership is less about the love of power and more about the power of love - Lord teach us to love as you did.
Lord, as we undertake the role of being leaders, let us be affirmed by the servant, the shepherd the steward leadership we witness in your son Jesus. Let us walk in the path He has set. Let our greatest passion be compassion, our greatest strength love, our greatest victory the reward of peace. In leading others let us never fail to follow. In loving let us never fail to serve. Amen.
The Sisters of the Province acknowledged gratefully the milestones of Mother Ernestine and her team members expressing it with shawls and bouquets and also thanking them for their great contribution for the growth and development of the Province.
A Tribute to Mother Ernestine:
As an expression of Gratitude and appreciation to cherish the experiences of Mother Ernestine for the past four years as the animator of the Province, Sr.Showrilu, the Provincial Superior presented the souvenir as a tribute titled "YOU ARE A PEARL OF GREAT PRICE" on behalf of the Sisters of the Province.
