ThE PLATINum JubILEE
The Platinum Jubilee of
St. Theresa’s College for Women, Eluru, was celebrated on December 15–16, 2023
with deep gratitude and thanksgiving. Founded in 1953 by Mother Clemenza, the
college pioneered Catholic women’s education in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,
growing from eight PUC students to nearly 4,000 today. Over the decades, it
expanded into a new campus, offering diverse undergraduate, postgraduate,
vocational, and diploma programs, and earned recognition as a College of
Excellence with the current NAAC A+ grade. The Jubilee honored this legacy with
cultural events, a tribute to St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, and a vibrant
alumnae meet featuring eminent personalities including the Home Minister of
Andhra Pradesh. Alumni, staff, and students relived memories, enjoyed parades,
dances, and campfire celebrations. The thanksgiving Eucharist, officiated by
the Bishop of Eluru with 40 priests, highlighted God’s blessings on the
institution. The event concluded with joy and pride, reaffirming the college’s
mission to form women with holistic education and gospel values.
